The Recovery Room

The Recovery Room

A place to understand what happened, and begin finding

your way back.

Trauma leaves its mark on the body, the mind, the way we relate to others and the way we see ourselves. But it does not have to stay that way.

The Recovery Room is for adults who want to understand what has happened to them, why they feel and respond the way they do, and what recovery actually looks like. Whether your experiences happened years ago or more recently, this is a place to start, at your own pace, without pressure.

๐Ÿ‘‰ This is not therapy. But it is a place to begin. To understand the language of your nervous system. To take meaningful steps before, alongside or instead of formal treatment.

Understand Trauma

Knowledge is power โ€” and safety.

Before we can change how we respond, we need to understand why our mind and body react the way they do. These short, accessible videos and guides will help you make sense of your experiences โ€” and see that what youโ€™re going through is not weakness or failure, but a deeply human survival response.

Ready to Work With Me Directly?

The resources and programmes in the Recovery Room are a genuine starting point. But for many people, the next step is one-to-one therapy, particularly for trauma that is more complex or that has been present for a long time.

If you are ready for that step, or if you would like to explore whether the time is right, I work with adults in individual therapy at the Newtown Clinic in Marlow. Sessions are tailored to you and draw on EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy, trauma-focused CBT and other evidence-based approaches depending on what you are working with.

I am a recognised insurance provider and offer both in-person sessions in Marlow and online sessions for those based further away.
