Understanding and Unravelling Anxiety: Module 1

Understanding & Unravelling Anxiety is a five-video course, with supplementary workbook and audios, built for teenagers.

Not for parents to do with their teen.

Not for parents to translate.

It's designed to be watched by teenagers themselves.

It begins by helping teenagers realise they're not "weird," "broken," or alone, and offers hope that anxiety can be understood and changed.

From there, they learn what anxiety actually is, why it exists, and what happens in the brain and body when it takes over.

Then they're guided to recognise how anxiety shows up in their own life, before exploring a range of practical and audio exercises to discover what helps calm their own nervous system.

Finally, the module ends with one simple challenge to help them put their learning into practice over the following week.

One of the most powerful things we can give a young person isn't just advice—it's an explanation of their own inner experience that finally makes sense. Because when teenagers understand what's happening inside them, fear becomes curiosity. Confusion becomes understanding. And understanding is where lasting change begins.

Module 1 is completely free right now in exchange for a little feedback. Click to gain access.

What's Included

  • Introduction - a video to help 'onboard' your teen, help normalise their experience, that they are not alone, weird or broken and help them understand that anxiety is treatable.

  • 'Understand This' - an educational video by me to help them understand what anxiety actually is and what is happening in the body to make them feel the way they do.

  • 'Make it yours' - a guided exercise, using a supplementary worksheet to apply learning from 'Understand this' to their unique experience.

  • 'Try This' - Given what they have learnt about their own anxiety response, this video talks them through a range of actions they can start to explore to begin constructing their own tool box of things that help them regain some control over anxiety symptoms. Supplementary audios support the development of calming and rhythically breathing practises that are evidenced to improve heart rate variability and reduce anxious responses.

  • 'Wrapping Up' video giving a summary of whats been covered, what to aim for over the week ahead and how parents can support the process.

Teens gain:

·        Understand what anxiety actually is (and why it shows up so strongly in their body)

·        Learn what’s happening in their nervous system during anxious moments

·        Practise guided exercises that calm the body and reduce the intensity of anxiety

·        Feel more in control — making it easier to shift thoughts and behaviours later on

Parents gain:

·        Clear insight into what their teen is experiencing

·        A shared language that reduces conflict and misunderstanding

·        A calmer, more compassionate way of responding to anxiety at home

This is not about “thinking positive” or pushing anxiety away. It’s about working with the body first — because real change starts there. Complete Module 1 and share your feedback to help shape the final course.
